Mukesh Khanal is a Research Associate at the Simpson Center, currently engaged in Alberta Digitalization Agriculture Program. He has a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Calgary and a Master’s in Applied Economics from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining the Simpson Center in April 2024, he was a member of the Fiscal and Economic Policy unit at the School of Public Policy, primarily engaged in research involving fiscal, economic, and taxation related policy issues. Prior to joining the SPP, he was a Program Officer at The Asia Foundation, an American international development agency, where he managed and coordinated peacebuilding research programs funded by the UK government. He has also consulted for projects and programs funded by USAID, Asian Development Bank, Small Arms Survey group, UN-WOMEN, Japan International Cooperation Agency, German International Development Agency, and several others.
